READER VIEWS AWARDS

News and Highlights in the world of LadyWarfield

I have a few bits of exciting news on my end. Let’s start from my most recent.

I am thrilled to have won a Bronze Award in the 2023 Reader Views Literary Competition under the category, Memoir.

For those that don’t know, Reader Views, it is an organization that brings readers and writers together by introducing selected books in a monthly newsletter that boasts over fifteen thousand subscribers. They have reviewed thousand of books and worked with authors that include James Patterson. They sponsor a yearly literary competition that’s open to authors worldwide using a fair and competitive recognition process for all participants. The Reader Views Literary Awards were established with the vision of leveling the playing field for authors who choose to self-publish.

For a writer it’s a great feeling to get recognition for your work, as it’s such a solitary process, and often very personal. And even though getting an award is amazing and confirmation of being an “author” at long last… an author’s greatest reward is when a reader says “I just couldn’t put this book down.”

Reader comments and reviews are the lifeblood of an author – so, I want to pause here for a moment and thank all the wonderful readers who took the time to write and post reviews. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

OTHER NEWS

Pocket of Pain can now be found at:

BUSBOYS AND POETS, at their Columbia, Hyattsville, and Shirlington locations!

SHELF LIFE BOOKS, In Richmond VA, Carytown.

It was with great anticipation, and joy to recieve emails from both Busboys&Poets and Shelf Life Books to share that they will carry my book! It’s really been a struggle to even get a bookstore to respond, so I am immensely grateful for their easy communication and openness to carry Pocket of Pain. So if you’re in the D.C. area or Richmond, go check it out!

AUDIOBOOKS COMING TO YOU

Also, in the life of LadyWarfield… while my much intended podcast/Bedtimes Stories has been delayed, I do have some other work coming along. I was asked to do an Audiobook for another writer. I will share when I can, but for now, just so pleased to start working again, and recording. And of course, stay tuned for the Pocket of Pain Audiobook. She should be coming by Summer.

IN RICHMOND

As mentioned before, I now reside in Richmond Viriginia. I can’t tell you how much I love living here. I did used to live her back in the 80s as you would know if you read the book. But I never thought I would want to move back. Was I nervous? Yes. But now that I’m back, I don’t miss a day living in Brooklyn. I mean, I lived in New York for 30 years (minus the 3 in Hamburg), and I was just done.

Richmond is very diverse, friendly, a great restaurant selection, artsy, museums and the music scene is great too.
