WHAT’S NEXT?
After 17 years of on-and-off writing, what comes next after I publish the book? Marketing. That’s what’s next. The boring job of promoting and marketing the novel, because that’s my next job as a writer. It doesn’t matter if you are with a traditional publisher, an indie publisher, or self-publish. These days, you have to be a part of the team. I’ve talked to writers from all 3 of those publishing worlds, and it really is work.
So you might get more emails from me, or see me posting a lot on my various social media platforms. And believe me when I say it’s a struggle. I’d rather be writing or reading. I just joined Twitter after getting off of it several times. But that is the writer's social media place. You can take bets on how long I’ll last. I refuse to go on Tiktok. I played with it, but I’m done. I tend to gravitate towards Instagram. But I know some are not on it, so I try to share those videos on Youtube. But I just started, so it will take time.
As one of my subscribers, and followers, you can help me grow my platform by simply sharing my emails with friends. If your friends become subscribers, then the next time I pitch to a publisher, I will “look” more sellable to them.
I’m finding the reviews amazing, and it makes me more confident that this story needed to get out there. Women are sending me messages, and sharing their stories with me. It’s giving me some ideas about how to create a series or course around this topic, that will include some meditations and modalities to help facilitate healing. So many ideas, so little time… as the saying goes.
